A Good Day

current mood: Hot Sauce

Yesterday was a good day. I woke up knowing that I was going to a Franz Ferdinand concert later that night and the day started going up from there. I was watching Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy when somebody rang the door bell. UPS was downstairs and had a package for me from Apple! I tore it open and found my iPod Shuffle from Judy's Book inside! I was sooooo happy. I busted it open and started playing with it right away. His name is Tiresias, a blind prophet in Greek Mythology. I'm trying to follow the whole Greek myth thing. I considered the name Orion, but then read that Apollo (my 15gig iPod's name) tricked Artemis (my iBook's name) into killing Orion. So that would have been a bad name...

I was about to head out to lunch when [info]musiquesas walked in the door and said we were leaving in 45 minutes. I didn't know we were going to the venue so early, so I ran to the shower. About an hour later we were on the road to pick up [info]couplandesque. After that we drove to the Target Center where [info]pillboxhat was already waiting. We chatted and ate GooGone flavored Jaffa Bars as we sat and discussed strategies on how we would get to the front of the venue. We appointed "sprinters" and it worked terrifically.

[info]duchess_of_pie Arrived about a half hour before doors opened. It would be her first Franz-perience. [info]couplandesque was fortunate enough to have a photo pass and recruited me and [info]duchess_of_pie to stop any dumb kids from bumping into her while taking pictures, I developed several new stances good for stopping the teens from jumping into our photographer. [info]duchess_of_pie and I ate and stood for the dark side last night... Also shouted Hot Sauce a few times.

Anyway, show was amazing! They played lots of songs they haven't played much yet. One of which being a favorite off of their new album, Walk Away. I'm glad that most of the kids in the crowd had not heard the new album yet, let me really watch them play the new stuff.

And now for one of the highlights of the night. Paul, at the end of the show, tossed his drumsticks into the crowd. There was a mad dash and I got my hand around one of them, and the fight began. One psycho-drunk bitch dropped to the floor bringing [info]pillboxhat with her. I still had my hand around it when I felt teeth sink into my middle finger. I let go after realizing that the psycho bitch bit me! Who the fuck bites someone for a drumstick. In retrospect I should have just grabbed onto the stick and twisted her hand around, then i'd have a drumstick today... Oh well, maybe next time.

We went outside to wait for the band on the side entrance. After a few hours we got everyone's signitures. Order was Bob, then Paul came out shortly after, then Nick a long while after that then Alex after that. I got all the autographs on my ticket. We met some very nice people as well... Also some very annoying people "Do you have Myspace? Do I look Jewish? Cause i'm not..." And a woman from Scotland came by after hearing that a Scottish band was inside. She told the guard to say the phrase "Salan jay va" (spelled phonetically) or "San jay va" to the band... Anyone have a traslation? I'm pretty rusty on my Gaelic.

All around a very nice evening. Went to Perkins afterwards with [info]musiquesas and then drove home and slept.

I'm never trying to catch a drumstick again. At the time, I didn't know you had a hold of it too... yikes, well.

I do wonder what that phrase meant too. It might be Slàinte something?
